Sikkim is one of the most interesting and beautiful small state of the India which is nestled between Nepal, China and West Bengal of India, its elevation variations are from 285 meters to 8540 meters. It is a paradise for the birds and Botanist lover; there are available more than 600 species of Orchid and over 4000 species of exotic flowering plants. It provides excellent views of Rhododendron covered hillsides, monasteries, glaciers and magnificent views of mountains.

How to get there:

Fly from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur or Biratnagar and transfer by road will be more convenient for visitors. Also possible fly from Kalkota or Delhi to Bagadora and transfer by road.

Clothing Recommend :

During the Summer- light jackets, rain gears, in winter, warm clothes and down gears required at high altitude region.

Entry Formalities :
Indian visa required for all foreigners which can be obtained at any Indian Embassy or Mission abroad. The inner permit can be obtained at entry point along with the visa.

Mid February to late May and Mid September to late December.

Darjeeling

The name Darjeeling is a composition of 'Dorje' meaning 'thunderbolt' and 'ling' meaning 'place'... 'the Land of Thunderbolt'. The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway is lovingly called the "Toy Train". The journey to Darjeeling is regarded as among the most spectacular in the world. Travelers are awed by both the scenery through the tea gardens as well as the railway line which is truly an engineering masterpiece and without doubt one of the wonders of the world. Darjeeling is also very popular for its tea which is branded as one of the best teas in the world. The town and hill station of Darjeeling lies in northern West Bengal, India. Darjeeling district lies between 26° 31' and 27° 13' north latitude and between 87° 59' and 88° 53' east longitude.

Altitude: Comprising mainly of mountain terrain, Darjeeling stands at a height of 2134m (7053 ft) on a mountain ridge.

Area: Darjeeling town covers an area of 11.44 sq. kms.
